In the morning of the 26th June 2004, we set off from Ratzeburg in good time because we had a long journey ahead of us and had arranged to meet Nadine, her husband and her sister at Gronau.
The journey was an absolute experience - it happened to be very hot on the day. However, it was rather impossible to open up the sun roof on the motorway because of the volume we had our music at :-) When we finally arrived the first thing we did was look for the venue where the concert would take place which we managed without any problems.
Then after a relatively short time, Nadine and the rest of the troop arrived as well and we decided to go out for food because there was still plenty of time.
After we had tastily eaten in a really nice bistro, we did a little shopping expedition through Gronau because in Gronau there are quite many nice clobber shops.
At about 5:30 pm, we went back to the venue to get an overview to see what is going on.
Of course, it wasn't until Gaby Köster came on stage that the room filled up. As we, however, didn't know exactly who was there because of her or Limahl, we couldn't judge the crowd and we found out that who was already in the show to see Gaby Köster , needn't leave the locality. As we didn't know how big the room was, we talked over it and decided that we should still get tickets for the Gaby Köster show which would assure us that we wouldn't have to stand in the last row later on.
No sooner said than done (not before we bartered with the organizer over the admission price for the tickets which resulted in him making us a satisfactory offer) we entered the locality, and after realizing 'wow this place is very small' :-), we were able to catch good places in front of the stage which we later defended.
After having lots of fun with Gaby Köster, we then waited more or less patiently for Limahl's performance and killed time with dancing, playing up and getting to know some of the other party-goers, which is not really that difficult at a Limahl concert.
Then I also met Betty and Katja for the very first time in person - we had only some e-mail contact prior to this meeting. We didn't have much time for chatting but we have thoroughly caught up at all the following meetings.
At about 11:30 pm, Limahls two dancers Nadja and Burak started with the show accompanied by the song 'Kajagoogoo' and soon Limahl finally entered the stage as well with endless applause and shouts of joy on our part of course! He beamed as always and it seemed as if he was in a good spirits.
Limahl gave following songs of his best: Kajagoogoo, Too shy, Love is blind, You to me are everything, Never can say goodbye, The way to your heart, Can you feel the love tonight, The neverending story, Just can't get enough, Tainted love und last but not least Too shy again, but this time the Special American Mix.
Limahls good mood infected each and everyone and so we danced and sang along to his songs and had lots of fun. Unfortunately, time really flew and despite of his encore we all (and I believe I may speak for all attendees) didn't let him go best.
For me personally it was possibly one of his best concerts I have ever experienced! :-)
