'Gold' night London's cult discoteque Hippodrome (UK) |
On 19 or rather on 20 August 2005, because it was already short after midnight, Limahl performed together with his female saxophonist in London's kult discoteque Hippodrome in line with the 'Gold' night.

'P29 - The biggest open air pop time travel through the 80s!', Zwickau/Planitz (Germany) |
On 9th July 2005, Limahl and his four dancers Mandy, Nina, Dion and Burak performed at the 'strandparty' in Zwickau/Planitz.
The waiting for Limahl was shortened by the German band Geier Sturz Flug and the German singer Ute Freudenberg who sang their biggest hits.
His songlist was quite similiar to the one in Trippsdrill last year, but with just one small but nice difference ;-) :

'18. Radio Nora Oldie Night', Bad Segeberg (Germany) |
On 14th May 2005 at about 6 pm the '18. Radio NORA Oldie Night' , an open-air party, took place in Bad Segeberg. Approx. 12,000 fans of songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s celebrated the five-hour spectacle.

TV broadcast of the show 'Die Hit Giganten - Pop & Wave der 80er' |
On 3rd April 2005, there was another episode of the popular German tv show 'Die Hit Giganten' on Sat 1. The theme this time was 'Pop & Wave of the 80s' and was moderated by Hugo Egon Balder whom many people certainly might know from another successful German show called 'Genial daneben'. As talk guests on the couch, Hugo Egon Balder welcomed Dirk Bach, Sabrina Setlur as well as Georg Uecker amongst others.
During the show, the 30 biggest hits of the 80s were presented and the lineup on site was again well worth seeing:

'Hit me baby one more time', ITV (UK) |
On Saturday, 2nd April 2005, the first series of the show 'Hit me baby one more time', which was broadcast live on ITV1, took place. Five artists of the 70s, 80s and 90s competed against each other on stage and fought for the first of seven much sought after tickets for the big final on 21st May 2005.
Here is the listing of the artists and which song they sang at best:
1. Gloria Gayner: 'I will survive' and 'Beautiful' by Christina Aguilera
2. Howard Jones: 'What is love' and 'White flag' by Dido
3. The Honeyz: 'Finally Found' and 'How you remind me' by Nickelback
4. Limahl: 'Too shy' and 'This love' by Maroon 5
5. Tiffany: 'I think we're alone now' and ‘Love machine’ by Girls Aloud
The German fan club and some other dedicated fans were also at the show to support Limahl actively. In the end, it was Tiffany who won, however, Limahl was more than satisfied with his performance in spite of everything and felt like a winner. There is nothing we could contrast! ;--))
