Limahl entered the room at 9:06 pm. After the compulsory salutation the chat started at 9:10 pm. The order of questions were in accordance with the questions sent in before.
Limahl: hello hello hello and thank you thank you thank you for all your Christmas and birthday wishes ;--))
Limahl: I hope you are all well and getting in the mood for Christmas, I am ;--))
Then the chat started and the first two questions were asked by Johanne from America:
limahl4ever: Did you have a good birthday? My name is Johanne.
Limahl: I had a great Birthday at the hotel after the last 'Here & Now' show in the UK, everyone was drinking and giving me cards and flowers, it was too smokey though but I had a great time ;--))
Limahl: I hate smoke I really do, as I get older it bothers me tremendously.
Limahl: This is exciting, all talking via the internet, technology is fantastic.
limahl4ever: Are you planning any USA tour dates?
Limahl: There is possible talk of the 'Here & Now' going to the USA but at the moment its only talk.
Lissy was the second to ask her questions:
Lissy: Hey Limahl! At first HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! How are you? Are you remember in me? I'm the girl who gave you the purple love pillow at the front of the stage in Alsdorf. I also met you at the aftershowparty. I was wearing a ''Limahl-shirt''. My second question is: How is it for you to see or meet old AND new fans? The last one is: What's your favourite sort of wine? I'm a really big fan of you since the Comeback show. You was so great!!! Thank you so much for your great songs :D I love all your songs. One of my favourites are 'Working out' and 'Ergonomics' :DDD
Limahl: I do remember you, I remember the cushion too, thank you. It's always nice to meet old and new fans, I always make the effort to say hello, I feel its my duty as a 'pop star'. I like white wine usually, less heavy than Red wine. 'Pinot Grigio' or 'Chardonnay'.
Then it was Steffis turn:
Steffi: Do you have a special dream or wish you would like to realise next year or later???
Limahl: I hope to keep healthy and working 'live' as usual all over the world. But I have recorded some new tracks which sound fabulous, I am really proud of them. My manager Andreas will go to see the German Record Companies in January and I really hope to have some new releases in 2005, this would be great, really great, but I must not wish too hard in case I get disappointed, if you know what I mean.
The forth question was asked by Mitch:
Mitch: When will you start to sing the songs that you wrote on your concerts, eg. 'Too much Trouble', 'Tar Beach'.... etc.
Limahl: Mitch, when I have a concert exclusively for Limahl fans then I will consider it, but when I am performing at large events with other artiste's or events.
Limahl: its not always easy to please everyone, non Limahl fans can lose interest quickly in a 'live' performance if I am singing songs they don't really know.
Limahl: Until I have thousands of fans again I must play for the majority and try to perform songs that everyone can enjoy.
Limahl: Here we are but there are only 26 of us, I cannot perform to a concert of 26 fans, everyone will lose a lot of money, it does come down to money, lights, sound, venue hire costs a lot of money, musicians too, so we need more Limahl fans to make it cost effective.
Sky was the fifth to ask her question:
Sky66: Can you help us to get a copy or an mp3-file of 'Its Christmas' and 'Walking in Rhythm'? It seems to be impossible to find them anywhere unfortunately.
Limahl: I am planning a brand new HOT website, some things will be available, I can't say exactly what yet. The new website is already looking fantastic but will not be ready for a few more week, I am working very hard on the content everyday.
Limahl: 'Walking in rhythm' & 'Its Christmas' could be there, I can't say at this point, I will definitely consider it.
Limahl: I have already written a page about an early demo from 1980 (before Kajagoogoo) that no-one and I mean no-one has EVER heard before, this will be available as a free download.
Then it was Junes turn:
June: Which was the last music CD you brought for yourself?
Limahl: 'Maroon5' & 'Scissor Sisters'.
June: Your favourite musician?
Limahl: difficult question one moment
Limahl: probably Stevie Wonder
Then Biggi might ask her question:
Biggi: Is there anything you can't do without?
Limahl: hair wax
Biggi: ;-)
Limahl: haha
The chat continued with Evis question:
Evi: Hi Limahl! My favourite songs of you are 'Working out' and 'Love that lasts'! What are your favourite songs of yourself?
Limahl: I really like 'Love is blind', 'Only for love', 'Frayo', 'Someone Else'
Limahl: I also like 'So far so good'
Limahl: 'Nothing on earth' & 'Tonight's the night' also.
Then Steffi W. wanted to know something about Limahl:
Steffi W.: Hi Limahl. Nice to talk with you again. Here is my question: During the 'Here & Now' Tour we've got the feeling that all artists seemed to have a lot of fun on stage apart from Nik Kershaw. He rather looked bored and his performance could better be described as if he was only doing his duty. Would you confirm our impression?
Limahl: No not at all, I just think Nick Kershaw is a cooler different performer, I think he really enjoyed it in the end.
Limahl: Actually Nick Kershaw is quite shy off stage too, I think it's just his personality.
The next question was from Rowina:
Rowina: Do you have next year of appearances in Germany?
Limahl: At the moment there is only one 'Live' show in May with my band and I think there is also a show in June with my dancers but I can't remember where exactly, my manager will tell me in January.
Then Simone asked her question:
Simone: Good evening Limahl, nice to have you here and it is funny to have this time contact with you in that way (chat)! I am Simone from Augsburg/Bavaria (near Munich), perhaps you remember me… LIMAHL, have you finished buying all Christmas presents for your family and your friends?
Limahl: Hi Simone, I have one or two more to buy but yes I started early in November because I knew I would not have much time in December with the 'Here & Now' tour.
Then Ritterlady could get rid of her question:
Ritterlady: hi Limahl...first merry Christmas and a happy new year and now my question:
Ritterlady: Your youngest fan (my daughter Miriam) is 6 years old. What do you think about it?
Limahl: I think it's amazing that a 6 year old is a fan when there are so many younger groups/singers out there, its great, I am flattered, I will try not to disappoint her ;-)
Ritterlady: I tell it her...she is so nice when she look of you and here your songs.
Limahl: bittershun
Then it was Bejays turn:
Bejay: Are there any plans for a "Here & Now Tour" in Germany?
Limahl: I have been told that 'Here & Now' WILL very possibly go to Germany.
Limahl: I don't know if I will be part of it but I would definitely consider it.
Then it was time for Dani to ask her question:
Dani: What was the best 'here and now' concert for you?
Limahl: Plymouth & Brighton
flower: and why Plymouth and Brighton?
Limahl: they were a little smaller and more intimate
Limahl: intimate is always good
Then everybody could ask another question. Steffi W also had another one:
Steffi W.: Is there an artist with which you would like to collaborate or record a duet?
Limahl: many I suppose
Steffi W.: for example?
Limahl: I think I could honestly sing with almost anyone.
Limahl: for example......Olivia Newton John
Ritterlady also had another question for Limahl:
Ritterlady: How did you feel in the 80s when everybody saw you as the most handsome popstar? Though I think you still look fantastic.
Limahl: It was great fun and very flattering, when people like you for your music AND your looks its a great feeling.
Limahl: It's difficult when this music business is so youth orientated and I am NOT getting any younger :-(
Limahl: is so youth
The next question was asked by Mitch again:
Mitch: Do You like the concert in Gronau? It was fantastic.
Limahl: I did not really like the sound in the Gronau concert but the atmosphere and feeling was good.
Another question by Biggi:
Biggi: What do you do if you have a whole day to yourself?
Limahl: cycle, visit a museum or historic building, shopping, eating/restaurant with friends, visit my family, could be so many things really.
And also Lissy again:
Lissy: Limahl, have you received the letter from me and Nadja? we've sent it since ca. 6 weeks ago :-)
Limahl: Yes I think so, I try to read all letters but its difficult.
Then another turn for Simone:
Simone: LIMAHL, have you still every Christmas a plastic-Christmas-tree like in old times? What does he look like?
Limahl: Hi again Simone, I usually have a small real xmas tree NOT plastic, but these days some of the imitation xmas trees are stunning with the correct decoration and design, this year I have a small real one.
Simone: Thanks... I told you I am a big Christmas fan.. ;o)
Limahl: bitter schoen
Evis second question:
Evi: Do you have a talisman and what kind is it? And i hope I see you next year, you´re GREAT! Your songs always make me happy, if I´m sad!
[---------- unfortunately, this question wasn't answered, as there was a server crash for a couple of minutes ----------]
After fixing the technical problem it was Flowers turn to ask her question.
flower: We saw in the formel 1 Film, that you didn´t eat chocolate marshmallow. Do you like them now? (dickmanns)
Limahl: No Flower, I don't like marshmallow, I never have, thanks anyway but don't buy me anymore :-(
Finally, the fc management was also allowed to ask a question:
Betty: now our question: is there a chance that you will work together with Anthony England on a project similar to 'Music from the last century'?
Limahl: I don't think so, not with Anthony anyway, we have never discussed such a project but of course an album similar to 'Music from the last Century' would always be interesting for me, lets see what happens, I need a record deal first Betty :-s
After two hours and fifteen minutes it was time to say goodbye. Limahl really liked the chat...and who knows maybe in future there will be another chance for a similar nice meeting.
Limahl: I wish you all a very merry xmas and all the best for 2005, thanks for your support and love, I hope I can live up to your expectations in the new year, until the next time, I send you my warmest wishes, big hugs xx
Limahl: gute nacht ;-)
Limahl: ich hoffe es hat aech spass genacht
Limahl: auch schpass gemacht
Limahl: MERRRRRRRRY XMAAAAAAAS ;--))
Limahl received a couple of Christmas wishes from his fans and left the room at about 11:20 pm
